Many Red Raspberries Ripe

More red raspberries are ripening every day, and the plants will start yielding heavily by June 12.  The first black raspberries will be ready to pick early next week, and many will be ripe from about June 14 to 26.  Purple raspberries will start ripening late next week and be heavy from about June 18 to July 6.
Red raspberries are starting to get plentiful.  Customers picked 25 pints yesterday, and 28 pints this morning.
Thornless blackberries will start ripening about June 20, and should get into heavy production by about June 28.  The sidebar at left shows the expected ripe dates for all types of raspberries and thornless blackberries.
All types of raspberries cost $2.32 per pint + sales tax, pick-your-own, and are sold pick-your-own only.  Thornless blackberries, once they start ripening, will cost $2.78 per quart + sales tax, pick-your-own, and are sold pick-your-own only.
The Smith family had fun picking red raspberries yesterday.
We provide containers for picking berries.  We appreciate it if you return these containers to us for reuse, on your next trip to Brenda's Berries & Orchards.  Please also bring back any peach boxes of ours that you may still have, so we can reuse them, hopefully next year.  Thanks.
Please do not bring bowls or bags to dump your berries into.  Raspberries especially are very delicate, and are easily smashed by dumping them.  We provide the ideal size containers for each type of berry, for storing in your refrigerator, and we want the berries to go home in those containers.
Shelby Wynn picked a flat of 8 pints of red raspberries this morning.  These pint containers are ideal for storing raspberries in the refrigerator, where they keep well for 5 to 7 days.
From June 1 to Aug. 31 we're open our summer hours: open 7:30 a.m.-12 noon & 7-9 p.m. Mon.-Sat., and Sundays 7-9 p.m. only.  We're closed noon-7 p.m. every day due to high summer heat, and closed Sunday morning for church.
We still have many 'Enterprise' and 'GoldRush' apples and cracked pecans, harvested last Nov. and kept in top condition in our coolers, for sale now and for the next month or two.  We still have some fresh harvested asparagus for sale now and for the next 4 to 5 days.  Prices are detailed in the May 25 blog post (click on "Older Posts").
