Open by Appointment Dec. to May

Tomorrow, Sat. Nov. 30, is the last day of our fall open hours: 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Mon. to Sat.
From Sun. Dec. 1 until May 31, we’re open by appointment.  During those months, all customers should phone 620-597-2450 a day ahead and leave a message on our answering machine with your name, day & time you’ll come, and what you want to buy.
We'll still have 'GoldRush' apples for sale that entire period, and probably won't sell out of 'GoldRush' until late June.  'GoldRush' apples keep well in our cooler or your fridge for 10 to 11 months, and get sweeter in cold storage, as starches convert into sugars.
We have 'Enterprise' apples (red apples at left) for sale now until about March or April, and 'GoldRush' apples (yellow apples at right) for sale now until late June.
We'll have 'Enterprise' apples for sale until about March or April, whenever we sell out.  For the next few weeks, we still have many selections from my apple breeding program and Asian pears.  Some of my apple selections and the Asian pears are very sweet.  I give taste samples, and many people love these.
Small amounts of harvested apples and Asian pears cost $1.30 per pound + tax.  I pack them in 20-lb. boxes, which I then weigh to exactly 20.0 lbs., so you save $1.00 if you buy a 20-lb. box of apples and/or Asian pears for $25.00 + tax.  We harvest apples and Asian pears into 2 bags per box, so you can get a 10-lb. bag each of 2 different apple varieties, or a 10-lb. bag of Asian pears and a 10-lb. bag of apples, and still get the 20-lb. discount.
Our harvested 2nds apples, with rain cracks, limb rubs or other surface damage, sell for $0.93 per pound + tax.  We now have a good supply of harvested 2nds apples, for those wanting to make apple pie filling, apple butter or other apple products.

We have harvested, cracked pecans for sale now until we sell out, probably in late Dec. or early Jan.  Our high-efficiency pecan cracking machine blows out most of the shell fragments, so these pecans are very fast and easy for customers to pick out.
We have mixed selections from Bill's pecan breeding program for sale in 4-pound bags.  Each bag has at least 75% kernels and less than 25% shell fragments.  Each bag contains the equivalent of at least 6 pounds of in-shell pecans, and when you pick out the pecans, you get at least 3 pounds of nutmeats per bag.  These are all large pecans with thin shells and great taste.  Each 4-pound bag costs $16.67 + tax.
Each paper bag contains 4 pounds of cracked pecans with at least 75% kernels. These are mixed selections from Bill's pecan breeding program, all large pecans with thin shells and great taste, seen in the plastic sample box.
We've also just started selling smaller, 1-pound bags of cracked 'Kanza' pecans.  These bags also contain at least 75% kernels, so when you pick out the pecans, you get at least 3/4 pound of nutmeats.  Each 1-pound 'Kanza' bag costs $4.63 + tax.
We're now selling 1-pound plastic bags of cracked 'Kanza' pecans. When you pick out these pecans, you get at least 3/4 pound of nutmeats.
