Last Week for Peaches, First Week for Pears

I'm still harvesting our latest-ripening peach variety, 'Carolina Gold', for the next 5 days or so.  We have several 10-pound boxes for sale this evening, and I pick more each morning.  Customers must call 620-597-2450 a day or so ahead to order peaches from now until we sell out of peaches about Aug. 22, and we can only supply small amounts.

We still have 'Carolina Gold' peaches for sale for the next 5 to 7 days.
We have people come to get peaches in late mornings, arriving here between 10:30 and 11:30 a.m., or evenings between 7 and 8 p.m.  I'm on my own harvesting peaches now, as my one worker is in college band camp this week and starts classes next week, so he only works here on Sat. mornings.  So I'm very busy harvesting peaches in early mornings, and the peach orchard is far from the sales building, so I often don't hear the bell ring before 10:30 a.m. unless someone rings it very loudly.

We sell harvested #1 peaches for $1.52 per pound + sales tax, and harvested #2 (2nds) peaches for $1.09 per pound + sales tax.

We have 'Sunrise' pears for sale now and for the next week or so, and will have 'Blake's Pride' pears from tomorrow evening until late Oct.
I just started harvesting our earliest pear variety, 'Sunrise', early this afternoon, and I'll start harvesting 'Blake's Pride' pears tomorrow.  We sell harvested #1 pears for $1.42 per pound + sales tax, and harvested #2 (2nds) pears for $1.09 per pound + sales tax.

We still have many long-keeping 'Enterprise', 'Gold Rush' and 'Sundance' harvested apples for sale for the next month or so.  See the June 4, 2023 blog post for prices on apples.  From mid-Sept. to mid-Nov., the new apple crop will be very sparse, but we have many great-quality apples now, so buy them while we have them.  I give taste samples, and almost everyone who tries these apples loves them and buys some.

Those visiting us from Joplin, MO should take 7th St. to Galena, KS then Hwy. 66 to Riverton and Baxter Springs, KS, then Hwy. 166 for 15.0 miles west to Brenda's Berries & Orchards as usual.  Hwy. 166 is closed from Baxter Springs to 4.0 miles east of Baxter Springs for road work this summer and fall.

As always, we take cash or checks for payment, but NO credit cards or debit cards.  So please bring your checkbook or enough cash to cover the amount of fruit you want to buy.  Thanks.
