Peach Trees in Full Bloom

Most of our peach trees are now in full bloom, while some of the latest-blooming peach varieties are still mostly in the pink bud stage.  Our two plumcot trees, which bloom very early each year, are now just past full bloom.
Most of our peach trees, at left with pink blossoms, are in full bloom now. Our two plumcot trees, at right with white flowers, are now past full bloom.
A 27 F frost is predicted for early Sun. morning March 31, and a 29 F frost is expected for early Mon. morning April 1. We're praying that those forecasts are accurate and temperatures don't drop below those levels.  The predicted temperatures would provide beneficial fruit thinning on the peaches and plums.
'Autumnstar' peach trees, at left and far right, have showy blooms, while 'Coralstar' peach trees in middle have smaller, non-showy petals. We had heavy rain this morning, just before I took this photo.
Our pear trees are still in the tight cluster stage of fruit bud development, and shouldn't be hurt at all by these frosts.  Some apple varieties are also in the tight cluster stage and some are still in the green tip stage, so won't be affected.  We're still very busy pruning all our fruit trees, blackberry and raspberry plants, whenever it's not raining or too cold.
We should have harvested asparagus for sale starting in early-mid April.  Cold soil temperatures have delayed asparagus emergence this year.  Expected availability dates for asparagus, all our fruits and pecans are listed in the sidebar at left.  We're hoping we have good crops of all our fruits and pecans this year, and we'll keep you posted.
