Apples & Red Raspberries Ripe for Picking

'Enterprise' apples were heavily harvested by pick-your-own customers last weekend, but more will continue ripening during the entire month of October.  Rain is highly likely on Thurs. morning Oct. 4, and all day Sat. Oct. 6 and Sun. Oct. 7.  Thurs. afternoon Oct. 4, all day Fri. Oct. 5, and all day Mon. Oct. 8 should be good days for pick-your-own 'Enterprise' apples, as well as fall red raspberries.
'Enterprise' apples will keep ripening for the next month.  Weekdays are great, uncrowded times to come pick them.
I'm harvesting 'Enterprise' apples each day, plus small amounts of a few other apple varieties, but the #1's sell as fast as I pick them this early in the apple season.  Our 'Enterprise' apple crop was reduced this year due to the April 16 freeze. We should have close to a full crop of 'GoldRush' apples, starting about a month from now.  'GoldRush' is our latest-ripening apple variety: they do not start ripening until late Oct., and are most numerous for pick-your-own customers during the first half of Nov.
Prices for pick-your-own and harvested apples are detailed in the previous blog post, dated Sept. 24.  Scroll down or click on Older Posts.  We're running low on plastic grocery sacks in different colors, which we use for pick-your-own apples, so very much appreciate it if customers bring us some.  Reusing is better for the environment than recycling.
More fall red raspberries, sold pick-your-own only, also ripen each day until the first fall freeze in late Oct.  Customers picked all the ripe raspberries last Saturday and Sunday afternoon, but there are many to pick on weekdays, and raspberries need to be picked every day.  Pick-your-own raspberries cost $2.32 per pint + tax.
This afternoon, many red raspberries were ripe, since no customers picked them on Mon. or Tues., and I can't pick all the raspberries besides harvesting apples for customers.
For payment, we accept cash or checks (from any state); NO debit cards or credit cards.  Please bring your checkbook or enough cash to cover what you'll buy.  Thanks.
