Last Week for Thornless Blackberries

'Apache' and 'Triple Crown' thornless blackberries are still ripening now through about Aug. 8, so come this week if you want to pick some (or some more).  All our thornless blackberries cost $2.78 per quart + sales tax, pick-your-own, and are sold pick-your-own only.  There are NO chiggers or thorns, and you can pick a quart in 5 minutes.
'Apache' thornless blackberries are huge, and there are still a good amount to pick if you come this week.
We're now about 2/3 of the way through our 2-month-long peach harvest season: we've harvested peaches for 6 weeks now, and will harvest for another 3 weeks.  Some of our workers will still be here to help harvest peaches for the next 2 weeks before they return to school.  From Aug. 19 to 23, I'll have to harvest peaches by myself, but only a few trees of a couple very late-ripening varieties will be ripe then.
Right now we have lots of 'Glowingstar' yellow peaches ripe.  This variety can develop very large fruit, and customers buying them over the past week have loved them.  Excessive, continued rain showers over the past 3 days curtailed our usual morning peach harvest on Thurs. Aug. 1 to Sat. Aug. 3, but several workers and I managed to pick about 600 pounds of 'Glowingstar' peaches on Fri. afternoon Aug. 2, and we still have lots in our cooler for sale now.
This box of 'Glowingstar' peaches weighs 20.0 pounds.  These peaches are so big that fewer peaches are needed to make 20 pounds.
Our workers will continue harvesting 'Glowingstar' peaches this week, plus small amounts of a few other yellow peach varieties.  Our first white peach variety, 'Nectar', has now sold out.  We'll start harvesting our second white peach variety, 'China Pearl', about Aug. 12, and will have that for sale from about Aug. 12 to 28.
All our peach varieties are freestone, and all have excellent flavor.  I give taste samples to those interested in buying peaches.
Small amounts of harvested peaches cost $1.30 per pound + tax.  We pick directly into 20-lb. boxes, which I then weigh to exactly 20.0 lbs., so you save $1.00 if you buy a 20-lb. box of peaches for $25.00 + tax.  We also usually have some nice 2nds peaches with rain cracks, limb rubs or other surface damage, which sell for just $0.88 per pound + tax.
For payment, we accept cash or checks; NO debit cards or credit cards.  Please bring your checkbook or enough cash to cover what you'll buy.  Thanks.
We're still open our summer hours, as shown in the sidebar at left.  Until Aug. 31, we're open 7:30 a.m. to 12 noon & 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Mon.-Sat., and closed noon to 7 p.m. due to high summer heat.  We're also closed Sunday mornings for church, so on Sundays we're open 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. only.  If you tell others about us, please let them know these summer hours.  Thanks.
