Summer Open Hours June 1 to Aug. 31

Our Summer Open Hours started today, June 1, and run until Aug. 31, as shown in the sidebar at left.  We're open Mon. to Sat. 7:30 a.m.to 12 noon and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., and Sundays 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. only.  We're closed Sun. mornings for church services (as we are year-round), and closed from 12 noon to 7 p.m. each day in summer.  If you tell others about us, please let them know the open hours.  Thanks.

Our Summer Open Hours started today, June 1, and run until Aug. 31.
Our first pick-your-own crop, red raspberries, won't start until Monday June 6.  Red raspberry fruit are developing more slowly this year due to cooler than average temperatures in April, so I've pushed back the start of red raspberry harvest by a few more days.  With all our berry crops, only a few fruit are ripe at the very beginning of each crop's harvest season, and often many people come during the first few days of each crop's season.  Each berry crop gets plentiful by the second week of its season.

Red raspberry plants have set many berries, which will start ripening next week and be most plentiful from about June 13 to June 26.
Red raspberries will be most plentiful from about June 13 to June 26.  Black raspberries will start about June 10, and purple raspberries will start about June 15.  All raspberries are sold pick-your-own only, for $3.24 per pint + 8.0% sales tax.

Thornless blackberries are still blooming, and should start ripening about June 20.  When ready, thornless blackberries are sold pick-your-own only, for $4.63 per quart + sales tax.

We still have many harvested, cracked pecans for sale, now until mid- to late July.  We had a very good pecan crop this past fall, and fewer people come to buy them from Feb. to May, so we probably will not sell out of pecans before mid- to late July.

We sell cracked pecans in 4-pound bags, which are over 75% pecan kernels and under 25% shell fragments.  Each bag has the equivalent of 6 pounds of in-shell pecans, and when you pick out the pecan kernels, you get 3 pounds or more of nutmeats.  Each bag costs $18.52 + sales tax.

We still have some asparagus for sale for the next week or so.  I'll stop harvesting it in a few days, to allow the shoots to develop into "ferns" and keep the roots healthy for next year's crop.  Asparagus is sold  harvested, still for just $2.78 per pound + sales tax.

Sales dates for all our crops are listed in the sidebar at left under Crop Sales Seasons. That also tells which crops are sold pick-your-own and which crops are sold harvested.  I adjust the dates as crop conditions change.

For payment, we accept cash and checks (from any state), but NO credit cards or debit cards.  We have no phone line to the sales building, and no card reader.  Please bring your checkbook or enough cash to cover the amount you want to buy.  Thanks.
