Still Many Harvested 'Enterprise' & 'Gold Rush' Apples

We had a large apple crop last fall, and we still have many harvested 'Enterprise' and 'Gold Rush' apples for sale, now until July or Aug.  Call a day or two ahead to order them, though, so I can have them sorted, cleaned and packed for you when you arrive here.

There'll be no 'Gold Rush' apple crop this fall 2023, but we still have many for sale now until July. 'Gold Rush' apples keep well in the fridge for 10 months, and I eat a fresh 'Gold Rush' apple every day with my lunch.
We sell #1 harvested apples for $1.42 per pound + sales tax.  I pack the #1 fruit directly into 2 bags in each box, which I weigh to 20.0 pounds.  If you get a 20-pound box of apples, the price goes down to $1.37 per pound + sales tax.  So a 20-pound box of apples costs $27.49 + sales tax, and you save $1.00.

We sell #2 (2nds) apples, with cracks or other surface damage, for $1.09 per pound + sales tax.  This is a great time of year to buy 2nds apples for making pie filling, dried apples, apple butter, etc.  Many people want 2nds apples in Sept., but our fall 2023 apple crop will be very limited due to the 2022 drought and 2023 spring frosts, and we have lots of good #1 and #2 apples now.

We still have many harvested 'Enterprise' apples, now until Aug.
We have now sold out of our limited sweet cherry crop this year, and have only about 4 pounds of asparagus left before we've sold out of that.

The historic 5-month summer and fall 2022 drought killed many raspberry primocanes, so we'll have no raspberry crops this June.  The black raspberry and purple raspberry plants will produce crops in 2024, but almost all of the red raspberry plants died.  So we've retired from growing red raspberries.

Blackberry plants are more drought-tolerant, so we'll have a thornless blackberry crop this summer, but it will be less plentiful.  The peach crop was also reduced, but thankfully we've gotten several rains and more rain is predicted, so we should have some peaches for sale in late July and all of August.

Projected sales dates for all our crops are shown in the sidebar at left under Crop Sales Seasons.  That also tells which crops we sell harvested, and which crops we sell pick-your-own.

Our summer open hours, from June 1 to Aug. 31, are shown in the sidebar at left under Open Hours.  But our only pick-your-own berry crop this summer will be thornless blackberries, which won't start until about June 20.

From now until June 19, those wanting apples should phone 620-597-2450 a day ahead and leave a message on our landline's answering machine saying the day and time you plan to come, and if you want #1 and/or #2 apples.  You may come in morning, afternoon or evening as long as you call a day ahead so I can expect you, since we're very busy with pruning and weed control now.  We're only closed Sun. morning for church services.

For payment, we accept cash and checks (from any state), but NO credit cards or debit cards.  We have no phone line to the sales building, and no card reader.  Please bring your checkbook or enough cash to cover the amount you want to buy.  Thanks.
