Last Peach Variety Ripening

Our latest-ripening peach variety, 'Carolina Gold', has just started ripening.  We'll harvest and sell these for the next 10 days or so, but peaches will be very limited from now on.  Only 4 older 'Carolina Gold' peach trees are producing this year, and high winds caused much limb breakage to these trees a few weeks ago.  The younger 'Carolina Gold' peach trees that I planted 4 years ago do not yet have a crop this year.

This box of 'Carolina Gold' peaches was weighed to 10.0 pounds, showing the large size of some of these peaches.
Customers must call 620-597-2450 a few days ahead to order peaches from now until we sell out of peaches in mid-August, and we can only supply small amounts. We've now finished harvesting and sold all 'Contender' and 'Glowing Star' peaches.  All 'Carolina Gold' peaches ripening this week of Aug. 7 have already been ordered, but we may have a few pounds of peaches available the week of Aug. 14.

We sell harvested #1 peaches for $1.52 per pound + sales tax, and harvested #2 (2nds) peaches for $1.09 per pound + sales tax.  We're busy harvesting and working in the orchards in early mornings, so we have people come to buy harvested fruits in late mornings, 10:30 to noon Mon. to Sat., or evenings 7 to 9 p.m.

We'll start harvesting our earliest pear variety in mid-August.  We'll sell harvested #1 pears for $1.42 per pound + sales tax, and harvested #2 (2nds) pears for $1.09 per pound + sales tax.

We still have many long-keeping 'Enterprise' and 'Gold Rush' harvested apples for sale for the next month or so.  See the June 4, 2023 blog post for prices on apples.  From mid-Sept. to mid-Nov., the new apple crop will be very sparse, but we have many great-quality apples now, so buy them while we have them.  I give taste samples, and almost everyone who tries these apples loves them and buys some.

Those visiting us from Joplin, MO should take 7th St. to Galena, KS then Hwy. 66 to Riverton and Baxter Springs, KS, then Hwy. 166 for 15.0 miles west to Brenda's Berries & Orchards as usual.  Hwy. 166 is closed from Baxter Springs to 4.0 miles east of Baxter Springs for road work this summer.

As always, we take cash or checks for payment, but NO credit cards or debit cards.  So please bring your checkbook or enough cash to cover the amount of fruit you want to buy.  Thanks.
